Spring Lipsticks: Coral, Orange and Hot Pink

Una vez que parece que lo peor del invierno ya ha pasado, que los días empiezan a crecer, que las temperaturas se van recuperando y las tiendas se llenan de vestiditos de flores y shorts en colores pastel, apetece cambiar los rojos más oscuros y los nude, por tonos vivos y alegres. Aquí os traigo  mis elecciones: 

El coral. Dior Addict Extreme 639 - Riviera con una textura hidratante y muy cómoda en los labios encuentra el balance perfecto entre rosa y naranja, siendo una opción perfecta para looks más naturales con su acabado glossy y fresco sin ser muy pigmentado.

El naranja. El naranja viene pegando muy fuerte esta temporada, YSL Volupté Shine 16 - Orange Impertinent tiene una textura muy parecida al de Dior, es muy cómodo e hidratante. Además decir que el packaging es toda una obra de arte en miniatura.

El rosa. Chanel Rouge Allure 102 - Palpitante a diferencia de los dos anteriores, esta opción es un rosa fuerte precioso muy pigmentado, es una opción más fresca y moderna que el clásico rojo, pero igualmente chic.  La fórmula es ligeramente más mate, pero no reseca los labios en absoluto. Este color permite aplicarlo con toda su intensidad, pero también de una forma más suave para looks más naturales.

¿Cuáles son vuestros preferidos para la primavera?

Once it appears that the worst of winter is past, the days begin to grow , as temperatures are recovering and the shops are filled with floral dresses and pastel shorts , want to change the darkest red and nude by bright, cheerful colors . Here I bring my choices :

Coral. Dior Addict Extreme 639 - Riviera with a moisturizing texture and very comfortable on the lips, it is the perfect balance between pink and orange. I has a glossy finish and it is not very pigmented making it an ideal option for more natural looks.

Orange. Orange is the colour of the season and YSL Volupté Shine 16 - Orange Impertinent is a very good option. It has very similar texture to the Dior one, it is also very comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. Not to mention the packaging that is a work of art in miniature.

Pink. Chanel Rouge Allure 102 - Palpitante unlike the previous two, this option is a very beautiful pigmented hot pink. It is a fresher and more modern choice than the classic red, but equally chic. The formula is slightly more matte but not drying on the lips at all. This can be applied to its full potential or as a stain for more natural looks .

The perfect red nailpolish

Posiblemente este es uno de mis esmaltes de uñas preferidos, tanto la fórmula como el color son sencillamente perfectos.

La fórmula. Se trata de la gama Quick Dry de KIKO este es el primero que pruebo y la verdad es que no podría estar más contenta con el hallazgo. La fórmula se aplica consistente, con dos capas logras un color perfecto y el pincel es un poco más gordito que el usual lo que hace el aplicado más fácil y rápido. Efectivamente como su propio nombre indica se seca muy rápido, sin necesidad de top coats adicionales. Pero el punto que más me sorprendió fue la duración, a mí que no me suelen durar mucho las uñas, me aguantó 4 días sin apenas daños. 

El color. Este es el número 826 - Apple Red es el rojo por excelencia, un color clásico para la manicura y que para mí es siempre una opción ganadora pues queda elegante y atemporal combinando con todo tipo de looks.  Comentar también se seca con acabado muy brillante, que siempre es un bonus para mí. La gama disponible es muy extensa y ya he visto algunos colores interesantes que estoy deseando probar.

Y lo mejor de todo, su precio es de 3,90€, creo que más no se puede pedir.

Possibly this is one of my favorite nail polish, both the formula and the color are simply perfect.

The formula . This is from the Quick Dry range from KIKO  and it is the first time I have tried this formula and the result could not be better. The formula applies smoothly and consistent, with two layers you achieve a perfect color and the brush is wider than the usual one making the application  easier and faster. As the name suggests it dries quickly without additional top coats. But the thing that surprised me the most was the long-wearing, I normally find my nail polish chipping by the first or second day but this one has lasted me for 4 days!

Color . This is the number 826 - Red Apple is the quintessential red , a classic manicure color and for me is always a winning choice as it is elegant and timeless combining with all kinds of looks . It dries to a very glossy finish which is always a bonus for me. The range available is very extensive and I've seen some interesting colors that I'm willing to try .

And best of all, it is a complete bargain it costs € 3.90, I think I could not ask for more.

KIEHL'S Mini Haul

Como ya os comentaba en mi post de mi lista de deseos para la primavera, necesitaba una nueva crema para el contorno de ojos y la de Avocado de Kiehl's me tenía muy intrigada. Con esta intención, me decidí a visitar la tienda que la marca tiene en el centro de Bilbao. La experiencia fue estupenda, la atención recibida  fue muy agradable y profesional, tras un análisis del estado de mi piel, me diseñaron una rutina completa adaptada a las necesidades específicas.

La historia de Kiehl's está muy ligada a la farmacia y al uso de ingredientes naturales:

Esta es la historia de una empresa cosmética que nace como farmacia en el East Village de Nueva York. Su fundador, John Kiehl, crea un negocio cuya originalidad y riqueza residen en una asociación única de conocimientos cosméticos, farmacéuticos, botánicos y medicinales que han ido cautivando a personas en todo el mundo.

Los ingredientes son el componente más importante de nuestros productos, y en Kiehl's siempre los hemos mostrado con orgullo. Los ingredientes no se eligen por su mérito estético; solamente se seleccionan las fórmulas con ingredientes que son de verdad beneficiosos para la piel. 

Dentro de las opciones me decidí por la crema Avocado para el contorno de ojos que ya tenía en mente y por la hidratante Ultra Facial Oil Free en Gel-Crema Hidratante. Además me dieron bastantes muestras para porbar otros productos de la rutina de belleza

En conclusión ha sido una experiencia muy buena y tengo muchas ganas de probar ambas cremitas junto con las muestras. Os informaré en futuros posts sobre los resultados.

As I commented on my wishlist for spring, I needed a new eye cream and the Kiehl's Avocado had me very intrigued. With this in mind, I decided to pay a visit to the brand store. The experience was great, the staff is really nice and professional, and after an analyzing my skin, they designed a full routine tailored to my specific needs.

Kiehl's history is closely linked to the pharmacy world and the use of natural ingredients:

Its founder, John Kiehl, create a business whose originality and wealth reside in a single association of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, botanical and medicinal knowledge that has been enriched over generations captivating people around the world.

The ingredients are the most important component of our products. The ingredients are not chosen for their aesthetic merit only formulas with ingredients that are truly beneficial to the skin are selected.

Within the routine designed, I decided to buy the Avocado eye cream that I had on my mind and the Ultra Facial Oil Free Moisturizing Cel-Cream. Also they give me some samples so I could try other products from the range.

In conclusion it has been a very good experience and I look forward to trying both creams alongside with the samples I was kindly given. I will report back in future posts on the results of both products.

Así como ayer os comentaba que el colorete es uno de mis productos preferidos para dar vida al rostro, hoy os traigo en las mismas líneas los polvos Terracotta de Guerlain.

Es uno de los productos estrella de la casa, definidos por la marca de la siguiente manera:

Comentar que la fórmula tiene brillo, por lo que no es del todo apta para quien busque fórmulas mate.

Daily I apply this one on its own, but for more dramatic look I like to pair it with a soft blush.  This one is quite shiny, so it wouldn't be a good option if you are looking for a matte bronzing powder.

Pink cheeks

Un truco que nunca falla para devolver la vida al rostro, es aplicar colorete en las mejillas. Este Blush Exclusif de Bourjois es un colorete en crema que una vez aplicado se ajusta a cada tipo de piel en un tono rosado diferente, si esto último es así no sabría decirlo, en mí se trata de un rosa clarito muy favorecedor.

La fórmula es cremosa y fácilmente difuminable, yo prefiero aplicarlo con los dedos y una vez sobre el rostro tiene un acabado muy natural, aunque se puede graduar la intensidad. Comentar además que su durabilidad es estupenda sin necesidad de retoques.

¿Habéis probado estas fórmulas de Bourjois?

Something that never fails to give life to my face is applying a bright blush to the apples of the cheeks. This Blush Exclusif from Bourjois is a cream blush that once applied to the skin it adjust to every one in a different shade of pink. I can't tell if this last statement is true, but I can say that I love this product, on me is a flattering bright, yet natural, pink tone.

The formula is soft and easy blendable, once applied it has a cream to powder finish that you can build up. I prefer to apply it with my fingers and its lasting powder is great and resist all day long on my cheeks.

Clean hair in a can

Si sois de las mías, ganar un día más de pelo limpio es toda una victoria, así que para urgencias o para esos días en que aunque no esté sucio ya no está tan fresco, el champú en seco devuelve ese volumen perdido.

¿Cómo aplicarlo? Vaporizar directamente sobre las zonas más grasas y en las raíces, esperar de 2 a 3 minutos a que el polvo absorba el exceso de grasa, después masajear y cepillar el pelo para eliminar los restos blanquecinos.

De todas las marcas que he probado: L'Oréal, Klorane... Este, Batiste, es mi preferido el resultado es el más duradero y existen varias fragancias a elegir aunque mi preferida es la Original o la Brit que son más sutiles.

¿Habéis probado este estilo de productos? ¿Cuál es vuestra opinión?

If you are like me, gaining one more day of clean hair is a victory. So for urgencies or for those days where the hair is not dirty but is no longer fresh, the dry shampoo gives the volumen back to it.

How to apply it? Vaporize it directly to the oiliest parts and to the roots, wait between 2 and 3 minutes while the powder absorbs the excess oil, finally massage and brush the white overcast of the hair.

Batiste is my favourite between all the ones I have tried: L'Oréal, Klorane... Batiste gives the most long lasting effect and there are several fragrances available, I prefer the Original or the Brit one because they are the most subtle and less overpowering ones.

Beauty Wishlist #1

El cambio de temporada anima no solamente a cambiar nuestro armario, si no también a incorporar más color y diferentes texturas en nuestra rutina de belleza. Por lo tanto, aquí os traigo mi lista de deseos de belleza para esta primavera.

Por un lado una base de maquillaje ligera y cómoda, siendo una gran fan de la línea Double Wear de Estée Lauder esta nueva BB Cream me llama mucho, además un colorete coral como el Final Cut de NARS es una opción estupenda para dar vida al rostro. Para las uñas prefiero un color pastel como este malva clarito de Les Blancs Nouvelle Bague de L'Oréal.

Para los ojos, empezando por la hidratación necesito una nueva crema para el contorno de ojos y he visto muy buenas críticas a esta de "Avocado" de Kiehl's. Por otro lado, e influenciada por Lisa Eldridge, Sepia Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner de Bobbi Brown es un marrón no muy oscuro que ayudan a enmarcar la mirada sin ser demasiado fuerte y duro, además para conseguir una buena cara, camuflando las ojeras el Instant Concealer de Clarins.

The change of season brings not only colorful and fresh clothes to our closets, it also asks for lighter textures and brightest colours in our beauty routine. So here is my beauty wishes for this Spring.

To start up a new base, being the fan that I am of the Double Wear line from Estée Lauder, this new BB Cream appeals to me in great way. A coral blush is also a must to give a healthy and summery look to the skin, as this Final Cut from NARS. And for the nails, I am loving pastels and I have my eye on this white-lilac tone from Les Blancs Nouvelle Bague de L'Oréal.

For the eyes, influenced by Lisa Eldridge, I am tempted to get Bobbi Brown Sepia Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, a mid tone brown, that will shape the eyes without being too strong. On the other side, I need a new eye cream and I have heard very good things about "Avocado" Eye cream from Kiehl's, and for camouflaging the dark circles and covering any other fault Clarins Instant Concealer de Clarins.

What's in my bag? Michael Kors edition

Uno de los posts y videos que más me gusta ver es este tipo de ¿qué hay en mi bolso? Como a muchas de nosotras, tengo esa curiosidad por saber qué llevan las demás y en comparación qué llevo yo... 

Mi jornada laboral es muy larga asi que básicamente necesito llevar conmigo una variedad de productos que me puedan resolver emergencias. Pero también es importante intentar minimizar el contenido para evitar parecer un caracol y que el bolso pese una tonelada, es muy sencillo dejarse llevar... 

Veamos entonces qué os podéis encontrar dentro: 

Bolso: es una compra reciente, después de pensármelo mucho finalmente me decidí por el Selma de Michael Kors en negro. En las dos semanas que llevo con él no he podido parar de usarlo, tiene un tamaño perfecto y es muy cómodo. Estoy segura de que le voy a sacar mucho partido.

De primera necesidad: cartera, llaves y móvil.  El billetero rosa es de Purificación García y al igual que el llavero de Minnie Mouse por su color/forma son fáciles de localizar en el bolso de un vistazo. 

Para no aburrirse: mi querido Kindle. He perdido la cuenta del número de libros que he leído desde hace un año que lo tengo, gracias a que apenas pesa no da pereza llevárselo en el bolso, como me solía pasar con los libros tradicionales. No falla en hacer un poco más entretenidos y llevaderos los interminables viajes en transporte público.

Para luchar contra la meteorología: paraguas y gafas de sol. ¿Las dos cosas? Sí, el primero porque viviendo en el norte es una necesidad y lo segundo porque en el extraño acontecimiento de que salga el sol (hay que ser optimistas), mejor estar preparada ya que soy muy sensible al sol.

Para sobrevivir al día con buena cara: en este neceser de Bimba y Lola meto todas aquellas cosas que podría necesitar durante el día y para emergencias varias: Kleenex, desodorante, toallitas húmedas, ibuprofenos, crema de manos, gomas de pelo... Y además de algunos productos para retocar el maquillaje a lo largo del día: polvos matificantes, corrector, máscara de pestañas y el pintalabios que haya elegido ese día, entre otros.

¿Qué soléis llevar con vosotras?

One of my favourite posts and videos is what is in my bag ones. And as there is a little nosy bug inside us,  here are all of the things I carry with me in a day to day basis.

Bag: this is a recent purchase, after thinking a lot about it I finally crave and get Michael Kors Selma bag in black. I have been wearing this one non-stop for the past two weeks. It is classic, elegant, very useful and  goes with everything.

First need: wallet, keys and mobile phone. The pink purse is from Purificación García and as the Minnie Mouse key ring, they are easy to find inside the bag.

Not to get bored: my beloved Kindle. I have lost track of the amount of books I have read in this little device. You can carry with you lots of books without loading them around and  It always help to make the train journeys more entertaining. 

To overcome the weather: both umbrella and sunglasses. The first one because it is a need living in the north and the second, because in case of sunshine, I am extremely sensitive to it.

To survive the day with a good face: in this make up bag from Bimba&Lola is where I have all the bits and bobs that I may be in need of: Kleenex, deodorant, hand cream... But also is where I save 
the makeup products that I may need as the day goes by: powder, concelaer, blush and the lipstick of chosen for the day.

Empties - Productos terminados #1

He visto este estilo de post en diferentes blogs y siempre los encuentro muy útiles, ya que dan una idea completa de lo que el producto es y de si funciona o no.

He terminado mi Revlon Color Stay (aquí tenéis un post dedicado a este producto) es una base de maquillaje que me ha gustado pero sin embargo en estos momentos tengo bastantes maquillajes que quiero seguir usando y de todos modos en España no es fácil hacerse con ella. El siguiente producto es Astor Mascara Volume Definer esta máscara de pestañas no es ningún milagro pero no está mal, todavía tengo una más ya que venía en un pack de dos cuando la compré. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer compré este  producto por curiosidad por la cobertura que tiene online, pero dado su precio creo q hay correctores que funcionan mejor que este en el mercado.

Otro producto que fue una revolución en su momento fue Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, fue de las primeras BB Creams que se lanzaron en el mercado occidental.  Este producto ha ido quedando relegado en mi colección y finalmente me deshago de él porque no me gusta nada y porque además ya estará estropeado. Primero es demasiado oscura para mí y se oxida de un color naranja, segundo porque es demasiado grasa, tercero porque huele demasiado fuerte y cuarto porque como se acerque un poco a los ojos te arrepentirás instantáneamente de haberla comprado, pica más que una cebolla. Otro producto del que me deshago es esta muestra de Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector, no esta mal pero tengo la sospecha de que ha contruíbuido negativamente a los problemas de piel que comentaba en mi post de favoritos.

En cuanto a cuidado de la piel: Axovital Contorno de ojos Antiarrugas, lo compré en su momento porque me estaba quedando sin crema de ojos, fue baratillo pero sinceramente no creo que haga nada de lo que promete, pero vamos yo me lo he usado hasta el final, aunque no lo volvería a comprar.

Para el cuerpo Nivea Triple Acción Body Milk Suavizante para piel seca y L'Occitane Food Cream ambos productos muy nutritivos y que he disfrutado mucho usando. Quizás me vuelva a ver las caras con algunos de ellos, aunque habiendo tantas opciones ahí fuera siempre hay algún producto nuevo que llama más mi atención.

I have seen Empties posts in all the different blogs and I always find these very interesting because they give a complete idea of what is a product like in the long term.

I have finish my Revlon Color Stay (if you fancy here you have a whole post about it) it is a foundation I have liked a lot, nonetheless I have another ones on the go and anyway it is quite difficult to get this product in Spain. The next product is Astor Mascara Volume Definer it is an ok mascara, nothing special, I have another one on my collection because I bought it in a pack of two. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer I bought this one after hearing all of the beauty gurus talking about it, but given its price I think there are better alternatives out there.

Another product that was a revolution is Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, probably it was one of the firsts BB Creams launched in the Occidental market. This product have been forgotten in my collection and finally I throw it away because I really hate it and it is probably out of date. Firstly It is too dark for me and it oxidizes to an orangy color, secondly it is too oily,  thirdly it smells very strong and lastly you'd better keep this out of your eyes because it stinks like no one business. Another product is this sample of Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector is not bad but I  am suspicious it might have cause me the breakout I talked about in this favourite post.

As far as skincare goes I have used up Axovital Eye Cream, I bought it because I was running out of eye cream, it is pretty cheap but sincerely I think it does nothing.

For the body I have used up Nivea Triple Action Body Milk for dry skin and L'Occitane Food Cream both products very moisturizing and I have enjoyed them a lot. Maybe I will repurchase them but I am not sure because there are many others options out there to try out.

Oscars 2014: Lupita Nyong'o

Si hay una persona que ha brillado con luz propia en esta última ceremonia de los Oscars ha sido sin lugar a dudas, Lupita Nyong'o, ganadora del Oscar a actriz secundaria por 12 Años de Esclavitud. Estaba impresionante con ese maravilloso vestido azul de Prada que le sentaba maravillosamente. Además eligió un maquillaje muy natural y un recogido muy sencillo con una diadema finita que ayudaban a mantener este look moderno, fresco y juvenil. !Un 10 en todos los sentidos!

¿Cuál ha sido vuestra preferida?

Lupita Nyong'o has bright with its own light in this past Oscar's Ceremony, winner of the Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for 12 Years a Slave. She was absolutely stunning with that gorgeous light blue Prada gown. Furthermore makeup and hair was simple but effective to keep the look fresh, youthful and modern.

February '14 Favourites - Preferidos de Febrero '14

Este pasado mes ha sido bastante problemático con mi piel: unos cuantos granitos persistentes por aquí y por allá, así que decidí volver a aquellos productos que siempre han funcionado para mejorar mi piel: Caudalie Beuty Elixir y La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. Ambos productos usados como tónico y serum respectivamente y aplicados tanto a la mañana como a la noche, no fallan en ayudar a que mi piel se descongestione y empiece a mejorar en cuestión de un par de días. También cabe mencionar, en las mismas líneas, el tónico Clarins Gentle Exfoliant, un exfoliante químico que aplicado a la noche sobre la piel limpia, una vez a la semana ayuda a mejorar el estado de la piel, de hecho, a la mañana siguiente de haberlo usado me levanto con la piel suave y fresca.

Si me seguís en Instagram (@mimipompon89) sabréis que donde vivo no hace más que llover y llover, con lo que como pequeño lujo al llegar a casa después del trabajo suelo encender la vela Lilas de Diptyque para relajarme y crear una atmósfera agradable y con olor primaveral en casa.

En cuanto a maquillaje, este mes destacar Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (que ya os comentaba en este post) aunque la compré a mediados de mes, la he estado usando todos los días desde entonces. Para aportar un poco de color a los días grises mi color ha sido el rosa, tanto en labios con L'Oréal Color Riche en Julianne's nude (echar un ojo a este post totalmente dedicado a este pintalabios), como en mejillas con Bourjois Blush Exclusif un colorete en crema que promete un color que se ajusta a cada persona, y que en mí es un rosa bastante vivo que aporta luminosidad y buena cara al momento.

This past month I have suffered with some breakouts, so I decided to go back to some products that have always help to keep my skin clear: Caudalie Beuty Elixir and La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. Both products used as a toner and a serum respectively, applied in the morning and at night always help to improve my skin in a few days time. I would also like to talk about Clarins Gentle Exfoliant, a chemical exfoliator that applied to clean skin once a week decongest and provides with a soft and fresh skin.

If you follow me at Instagram (@mimipompon89) you would know that where I live it rains all the time, so as a little luxury to myself when I arrive from work at night I like to light up the Lilas candle from Diptyque to relax and create a cozy and springy-smelling atmosphere at home.

As long as makeup goes, this month I have been loving Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (one of the products of my haul post) although I bought this one around the mid month I have been reaching for it ever since. And to give my complexion a little bit of life in this gray days I have found myself in a pink mood: for my lips I have been using non stop L'Oréal Color Riche en Julianne's nude (Have a look on this post for a complete review), and for my cheeks Bourjois Blush Exclusif a cream brush that claims to adjust to everyone skin tone in a different way, for me it is a bright pink that gives a healthy and good-face look to my face.
